Taking a Break from Stamping

I just wanted to let everyone who follows me know why I have been taking a break from stamping and haven't done any YouTube videos for the last several months. I have been busy trying to finish some unfinished crafting projects. I am working on some of the Paper Pumpkin kits that I have received the last several months, but keep getting interrupted. My husband is retiring in August and I'm working on filling out all his pension and social security paperwork for him. It's a good thing that I am an organized document saver!

In November and December I was driving my granddaughter to her doctor's appointments and helping her with her 15 month old daughter before she had her second little girl. Now it seems as though she needs my help periodically with her older daughter so she can concentrate on nursing and caring for her newborn. The life of a great grandmother is a busy one for sure.

I am enjoying spending time with her and my great granddaughters, so I am putting them ahead of my crafting. I will try to record some more videos this summer showing you some of the new products in the 2024-2025 annual catalog. You can access the new catalog by clicking on the image here on my blog.

Dual Pop Up Nativity Card

 

Christmas is less than two months away so it's time for me to get busy and make cards for my family and friends. I'm using the O Holy Night suite collection for this card; although, I did use a bit of paper from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper and the Timber 3D embossing. I look forward to making more Christmas cards and sharing them with you.

I saw this fun fold on JanB's YouTube channel and thought it would work great for a Nativity scene using the Night Divine Bundle. The Stars at Night Bundle had the rest of the elements that I needed to complete this beautiful Christmas card. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of this card. Tri-Fold Card

I finally found some time to record another card video. Somehow time has been slipping by faster than a speeding bullet. 

While I was busy doing other things, Microsoft changed the program on my computer that I was using to edit my videos. I had to spend some time today trying to figure out the new program. I have also been trying to learn how to do live videos with my iPhone that aren't upside down, backwards, or sideways. This is taking me longer than I care to admit, but I will figure it out eventually.

I have been creating cards with the Delightful Floral designer series paper and am loving the results I have been coming up with. I've also been attending some classes to learn some new card layout ideas. I got this card layout from a card created by Connie Stewart. You can use any DSP with this card layout.

Triple Line OSW Card

I've been trying to figure out how to arrange these pictures of my cards differently, but not sure how to go about it. The first two pictures are of the card I made during my video. The next two pictures are of the first card I made. The last picture is the OSW that I stamped before I cut it up for making my cards. It's amazing how different the cut up card stock looks compared to the whole sheet. I have another one that I will be making cards with as well.

I attended an on line class that Ruth Trice Magness of Artful Stampin' Space did and am so thankful for her help. She is very good at her craft. I'm hoping to do a video in the future to show you how to stamp a beautiful OSW as well as the many things you can make after you are finished stamping it.

Earthen Textures Card

When I saw a version of this card on Pinterest by Barbara Ruby, I knew I had to case it. I made a few changes, but kept the beautiful combination of colors that she used.  Using Berry Burst and Fresh Freesia really changed the mood of the Earthen Textures stamp and die set.

I didn't think I would like this bundle when I first saw it in the catalog, but I am really starting to love it. I hope that this version of Barbara's card will inspire you to get creative with it as well.

Earthen Elegance Birthday Card

I cased this card from page 70 of the 2023-2024 annual catalog. I made a couple of changes, but it is essentially the same. I have never used a stamp and die set like this one before; therefore, I decided it would be a good idea to case one from the catalog. 

I will be working on some ideas I have to create more cards with this set using a variety of the stamps and dies. It seems to be very versatile as well as a good one to make some cards for men.
